Ella Mae Boggs

Ella Boggs, age 93, of Breckenridge, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 21, in the Breckenridge Cemetery with Pastor Russell Blue and Pastor Trey McDuff officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, October 20, at Morehart Mortuary.
Ella Mae Ellis was born May 10, 1932, in Caddo Mills, Texas, to parents, J.E. Ellis and Velma J. Norman Ellis. She grew up and attended schools in here in Breckenridge. On July 10, 1946, Ella married Grady O. “Babe” Boggs. In 1955, the Boggs’ moved to West Texas, where Ella furthered her education and graduated from Odessa College as an LVN. She worked in hospitals and at doctor’s offices in Odessa, Crane and McCamey for several years before moving back to Breckenridge in 1985. Here, she worked at Lake Country Manor. Ella was formerly a member of the Eastern Star in Crane and served as a Past Worthy Matron. While in Crane, she was a member of the First Christian Church and taught Sunday School. She enjoyed painting, gardening, baking and sewing, often sewing outfits for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Most of all, Ella loved spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.E. and Velma Ellis; her husband of 61 years, Grady O. “Babe” Boggs; one daughter, Judy Janelle Folk; one grandson, Lonnie Boggs, Jr.; six brothers and four sisters.
Mrs. Boggs is survived by her children, Lonnie N. Boggs, Sr., William Curtis Boggs, Carolyn Ann Folk; 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
