After years of making floral arrangements for family and friends, Chelsey McClymond recently opened her own shop, Agapé Arrangements, inspired by her grandmother, the late Beverley Eddleman, who passed away in 2024.

“Basically, everything I’m doing is in memory of my grandmother,” McClymond said. “She just always encouraged me to have my own creative space. I always made her floral arrangements, so she’s the one that really wanted me to do this. And so I just felt a tug at my heart to do it after she passed away, and here we are.”

On the Agapé Arrangements website, McClymond explains a little more about her grandmother’s influence. “Her love for all things pink, hummingbirds, and kindness flow throughout our space,” she says.

On Friday afternoon, McClymond was joined by family, friends and members of the Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce for a ribbon cutting ceremony at the shop, which is located at 1824 W. Walker St., adjacent to the Bell Mare Hotel.

When the shop unofficially opened earlier this summer, McClymond posted on Facebook about the name. “The name (Agapé Arrangements), well the name was important to me, because it describes my grandmother superbly. Agapé means the highest form of love. The love of God for humans, and the love of humans for God. It’s brotherly love that embraces a profound sacrificial love that transcends and persists regardless of circumstance,” she wrote. “The goal of my little flower shop will be to make everyone feel like family. Happy moments shall be celebrated and sad moments shall be comforted. May you leave Agapé with full hearts after every visit!”

During Friday’s event, First Methodist Church pastor Sam Chambers led those gathered at the shop in a prayer.

Agapé Arrangements is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and by appointment on Saturdays and Sundays. The shop offers fresh and faux floral arrangements for all occasions, as well as potted plants. Additionally, McClymond said she plans to offer home design services, as well. The shop will deliver flowers in Breckenridge and the surrounding area and can arrange for flowers to be delivered outside the area via a florist network.
