With friends, family and Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce members surrounding her on Friday afternoon, Shayla Speck cut the ribbon, officially opening her new business, House of Flowers on West Walker Street.

“I’ve been a florist for 13 years, and I finally decided to open up my own shop,” Speck said during the event. “I grew up in a flower shop…my mom (Teena Wickson) was a florist.”

House of Flowers is located at 1904 W. Walker St. and offers custom floral arrangements for any occasion, including homecoming (mums and garters), prom, birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, funerals, etc. Speck said she delivers in Breckenridge and to surrounding towns. Additionally, she can wire orders to be delivered outside the delivery area.
