Michael Hamm

Michael Alan Hamm of Breckenridge, Texas, passed away on August 3, 2025, after a long battle with cancer.
Mikey was born July 2, 1996, in Ruidoso, New Mexico, to Michael L. Hamm and Valari M. Wilcox.
He was raised in Capitan, New Mexico, and graduated from Capitan High School in 2014.
He met the love of his life Shelly Wright Hamm in November of 2019, and they were married on June 22, 2024. Together they have two beautiful daughters, Avery Michelle and Addalynn Mae Hamm.
Mikey was an amazing father and husband to his three girls, Shelly, Avery, and Addalynn, and worked hard to provide them with the best life, as they were his life.
Growing up in Capitan, NM, Mikey loved baseball and football and spending time with his siblings and friends. He was always the life of the party and could light up a room and make everyone laugh with his sense of humor and his quick wit. Everyone that met Mikey, loved Mikey.
As an adult, he loved fishing, camping, cooking, and spending time with his family.
Mikey was employed by JRJ Construction of Weatherford, Texas, for the last 10 years.
Michael Alan Hamm is survived by his wife, Shelly Wright Hamm; his two daughters, Avery Michelle and Addalynn Mae; his father, Michael L. Hamm; his mother, Valari M. Wilcox; his brother, Caleb Wilcox and wife Haley; his brother, Jacob Wilcox; his sister, Jennifer Jaeden Rose Hernandez and husband Josh; his maternal grandparents, Ben and Betty Wilcox; and his nieces and nephews, Chambri, Zico, Anais, Benson, Zayden, and Rhorie Jean; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Michael is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Kenneth and Shirley Hamm; his uncle Waylon Wilcox; and his father-in-law, Stanley Sims.
Viewing will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, at the LaGrone Funeral Chapel of Ruidoso, NM, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Services will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at the Church of Christ, located in Capitan, NM, at 11 a.m. with Raul Villegas officiating. Graveside service will follow at the Gavilan Memorial Garden Cemetery in Ruidoso, NM.
Pallbearers will be Caleb Wilcox, Jacob Wilcox, Mike Mulrey, Josh Hernandez, Richard Morris, and Ruben Mendoza.
Honorary pallbearers are Zico Wilcox, Benson Wilcox, Scott Hamm, Aric Holly, Brady Noble, and Kody Harbaugh.
