Wilma Jean Cox

Wilma Jean Cox, 73, of Haltom City, passed away Friday, July 25, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 31, at Morehart Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow in the Breckenridge Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.
Wilma Jean Lowrance was born January 20, 1952, in Graham, Texas, to Meabon Leroy “Larry” Lowrance and Mayme Pearl Mueller Lowrance. After graduation, Wilma decided to further her education and pursue a career in healthcare. She went on to earn four Associate Degrees in Nursing, Emergency Medical Tech, Computer Science and Medical Billing & Coding. On June 28, 1975, Wilma married David Joe Cox in Murray, Texas. She worked as an LVN for many years until her retirement in 2005. She also proudly worked as an EMT for MedStar in Fort Worth for four years. Wilma was active with the Citizens on Patrol Service and in her free time enjoyed quilting, sewing and reading. She was a country girl through and through and loved being outdoors, hunting and fishing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Chris Cox; and one fur baby, Darby.
Mrs. Cox is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, David Cox, and her other fur baby, Tippy.
