Annual Stephens County Ranch Rodeo scheduled for May 2-4

The annual Stephens County Arena Ranch Rodeo will return to Breckenridge for a three-day event Friday through Sunday, May 2-4.
The rodeo will feature a grand entry at 7 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday nights at the Stephens County Arena, located at 145 County Road 245, behind the Stephens County Ag Center on U.S. 180 East. Friday’s events include mugging, doctoring, stray gathering and sorting, while Saturday adds goat roping to the lineup. Sunday will begin with stick horse races at 11 a.m., followed by the Jr. Ranch Rodeo at 1 p.m., featuring penning, doctoring, mugging and cow milking.
The National Anthem will be performed on Friday by Shonda Wood, followed by Kallee Spencer on Saturday and Cable Perkins on Sunday.
Mutton Bustin’ competitions will be held Friday and Saturday nights. Parents can sign up children by 6:30 p.m. each night for $10 per contestant. Vests and helmets will be provided. Participants must be under age 10 or weigh less than 60 pounds. Canyon Road Barn & Grill will sponsor the Mutton Bustin’ buckles, which will be crafted by MTittor Engraving.
The winning team will receive straw hats sponsored by Rodeo King.
