The family invites friends to stop by and share memories of Harvey. Arrangements have been entrusted to Morehart Mortuary.

Harvey Don Blades was born July 11, 1968, in Rangely, Colorado, to Kenneth Alvin Blades and Sammie Clark Blades. Harvey grew up in Wyoming and graduated from Sheridan High School, Class of 1986. During that time, he wrestled competitively. He went on to earn an associate degree from Black Hills State University, before making his home in Texas. Harvey worked in the prison system for over a decade, working his way up to Lieutenant at the Walker Sayle Unit in Breckenridge. He was an avid Wyoming Cowboys and Denver Broncos fan and never missed a chance to cheer on his teams. Harvey was crafty in the kitchen, and enjoyed cooking for his family, especially when his kids were picky eaters. He was an active member of the Breckenridge Elks Lodge and would often help with their events. Harvey was the life of the party, from family functions to friendly affairs, and was always quick with a joke or to make someone feel a part of whatever gathering was taking place. He loved his family and his dog, Luke.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Blades; his grandparents, Sam and Fannie Clark, Roberta and Amos Blades; one uncle, Don Blades; and one cousin, Georgie Nichols.

Harvey is survived by three children, Adam Wyrick of Wyoming, Gaje Garrett and fiancé Ivy Byram of Texas, and Liberty Blades of New York; his loving mother, Sammie Blades; one brother, Colby Blades; one sister, Tammy Satterwhite and husband Houston; and several nieces and nephews; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorials may be made to the Breckenridge Elks Lodge #1480 and may be left at Morehart Mortuary. Condolences may be made online at www.morehartmortuary.net.
