A crowd of family, friends and co-workers filled the courtroom in the Stephens County Courthouse on Tuesday morning as District Judge Phillip Gregory swore in the locally elected officials for the upcoming term.

Before Gregory could swear in everyone, though, he was sworn in by Stephens County Judge Michael Roach.

Gregory started with the County Commissioners, David Fambro, Precinct 1; Will Warren, Precinct 3; and Tanner Wade, who was recently appointed to serve as commissioner of Precinct 4, following Eric O’Dell’s retirement.

Then, Gregory continued with the other elected officials, including Crystal Shook, tax assessor-collector; Wayne McMullen, constable; Kelsey Cornwall, treasurer; Kevin Roach, sheriff; and Gary Trammel, county attorney.

Afterwards, each official swore in the employees in their offices.

The courthouse was closed for New Year’s Day but reopened for regular business today, Jan. 2.
