Mike Rogers
Gary Mike Rogers, 74, of Breckenridge, Texas passed away on December 4, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. The graveside service is private and family only held at the direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home. The family will welcome friends on Sunday, Dec. 8, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. for a visitation at the Melton Kitchens Funeral Home.
Mike Rogers was born on June 13, 1950, in Breckenridge, Texas, to Ed and Dorlene Rogers. He grew up in Breckenridge and graduated from Breckenridge High School before enrolling in the Army reserves. Mike married Donna Gandy on February 5, 1971. They moved to Brady, Texas, in 1978 and then returned to Breckenridge in December 2014 for retirement. Mike loved being a rancher as well as sharing his love of camping, hunting and fishing with his grandsons.
Mike worked in banking his entire career. He began in Breckenridge at First National Bank and then moved to Brady in 1978 to finish his career at Commercial National Bank. He was an active member of Sunset Ridge Church of Christ in Brady and Elliot Street Church of Christ in Breckenridge.
Mike was proceeded in death by his father Ed Rogers and mother Dorlene Rogers. He is survived by his wife, Donna Rogers; and by his two children Tonya Clifton and her husband Troy, and Amanda Pennington; three grandchildren Tyler Clifton, Logan Clifton, and Luke Pennington; along with a sister, Rena Goldsmith and husband Ted.
