Workforce Solutions to host ‘Hiring Red, White & You’ job fair in Abilene on Nov. 14

Workforce Solutions of West Central Texas, which has a service area that includes Breckenridge and Stephens County, is working in partnership with the Texas Workforce Commission, Texas Veterans Commission, and Dyess Air Force Base to host the 13th annual “Hiring Red, White & You!” job fair on Thursday, Nov. 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Abilene Convention Center.
The event will be free and open to the public with an early entry, priority access period for current and prior military, their spouses, and family members beginning at 9:30 a.m. The Hiring Red, White & You! job fair places an emphasis on hiring former military personnel, who are equipped with countless skills and unique strengths from their time serving in the armed forces.
With over 80 employers from Abilene, Brownwood, Snyder, Sweetwater, and surrounding communities participating, the job fair is also an opportunity for job seekers of all skill levels, talents and experience to explore available careers. Businesses in healthcare, manufacturing, public safety, finance, communications, education, customer service, and more will be represented with open positions to fill. Several of the businesses have services in Breckenridge, including Republic Services, Nextera Energy, Texas State Technical College, Windham School District, Walmart and more; however, they might not necessarily have local job openings.
Event registration and a full list of participating employers with the jobs they will be hiring for are available at www.wfswct.org/hrwy.
