Breckenridge Woman’s Forum plans garage sale for Nov. 9, enjoys recent presentation by local artist Becky Hicks

Local artist Becky Hicks spoke to members of the Breckenridge Woman’s Forum during their recent meeting.
She displayed a sampling of her work and told the group about her background and what she offers at her studio.
Hicks, a 1978 Breckenridge High School graduate, lived in Fort Worth for many years before moving back to Breckenridge a few years ago and opening the Becky Hicks Fine Art and Boot House Mercantile, located at 119 E. Walker St. She has oil painting classes for adults on Monday nights and has after-school classes for children ages 9 and up. She also has paint parties for groups; the weekend paint parties include step-by-step instructions for painting pictures.
Hicks is planning a grand opening for her business on Nov. 15, first day of Mingle & Jingle. For more information, check out her Facebook page and her websites: beckyhicksfineart.com and boothousemercantileandexchange.com.
The Woman’s Forum, 1804 W. Walker St., also is planning a garage sale on Saturday Nov. 9 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will be open to the public and will include lots of items for sale. The garage sale will be the Woman’s Forum’s only fundraiser this year. They will be accepting donated items (no clothing or shoes) on Friday, Nov. 8, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
