Patty Robinson, 78, of Breckenridge, passed away on October 14, 2024, surround by her loved ones. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, October 18, 2024, at Real Church with Steve Spoon officiating. The interment will be at Prairie Haven Cemetery, in Hobbs, New Mexico.

Patty Jean Robinson was born on June 19, 1946, to V.J. and Bonnie Callaway in Duncan, Oklahoma. Although her family moved around a lot when she was little, at the age of nine, Patty and her family settled and made a home for themselves in Hobbs, New Mexico. It was in Hobbs that Patty met the “zig to her zag” Troy Robinson at the tender age of 13, and the two quickly married.

The couple soon welcomed two beautiful children into the world, Kevin (Robinson) and Kimberley (Davis). For many years, Troy and Patty resided in New Mexico, where they made an impact on their community in so many wonderful ways, including Patty’s time in real estate, building and furnishing homes across the city, and remodeling and flipping houses for the people of Hobbs.

Additionally, both Troy and Patty have always been active members of their church family, selflessly serving and faithfully praying for both the leadership and the congregations of the churches they loved.

But as much as she served her community, Patty always knew her true calling, and her most important role, was being a lover of Jesus and a reflection of God’s love to those who knew her, including her family. Besides “sister,” “wife,” and “mother,” the name that Patty cherished was “Nana.”

Nana and Papa’s house always had the lights on and the doors open, and typically something cooking on the stovetop. Kids, grandkids, and great grandkids were always welcome with a hug, a kiss, and a piece of candy (or two).

When Troy and Patty semi-retired five years ago to fulfill a life-long dream of living on the lake, they knew they would need a place where the whole family could still gather. After buying a property in Breckenridge, Texas, Patty and Troy spent years remodeling (and expanding, expanding, expanding!) their property so everyone could once again fit comfortably within the walls of Nana’s and Pa’s. What started as a “little lake house” soon became a sanctuary of love, laughter, and God’s presence for both the family and many in the town of Breckenridge.

Patty was a blessing to everyone who met her. She was the little blonde with the big personality. She will be remembered for her smile and her laughter, her cooking and singing, and her unconditional love. Her love for her Savior was reflected in everything she did, and we rejoice that she is now hearing her beloved father say, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”

Patty is survived by her sweet husband of just over 64 years, Troy Robinson; a sister, Donna Cox and husband, Steve and their family; a son, Kevin Robinson and wife Cathy; daughter, Kimberly Davis and husband, Danny; four grandchildren, Summer Rickman (Drew), Dustin Davis (Amanda), Tyler Robinson, and Kimbler Davis (Lanie); six great-grandchildren, Brayden Davis, Jara Davis, Sadie Robinson, Kyndal Davis, Sydney Robinson, and River Rickman; a nephew, Zak Burton (Bethany), and niece, Zan Reeder (Remy); great-nieces and -nephews, Addison Burton, Cayden Burton, Atlee Reeder, and Lincoln Reeder; and one great-great-nephew, Nash.

Patty is preceded in death by her mother, Bonnie Callaway; and her father, V.J. Callaway; and her brother Jackie Leon.

Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice and can be left at the Melton Kitchens Funeral Home. Condolences may be made at meltonkitchens.com.
