Alfonso Arellano

Alfonso Arellano, 64, of Breckenridge, passed away on October 9, 2024. A Rosary service will be held at Melton-Kitchens, Chapel of Memories, at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 16, with Rev. Colombus officiating; with a Rite of Committal to follow at Breckenridge Cemetery.
Alfonso Arellano was born on March 12, 1960, in Tierra Blanca, Zacatecas, Mexico, to parents Manuel Jaramillo Moreno and Manuela Arellano Gallegos.
In 1982, he married Luisa Palacios Lucas, and together, they had three children: Alfonso, Lorena, and Alejandro.
At the age of 24, Alfonso immigrated to the United States, looking for a better future. He settled down in Breckenridge, Texas, and spent several decades working as a rig operator in the oilfield. During this time, he met Ramona Ponce, and together they had two children: Edward and Elena.
In his free time, Alfonso enjoyed hanging out with his friends and drinking some cold ones, and also returning to Mexico to visit family.
He is preceded in death by his father Manuel Jaramillo.
Alfonso is survived by his wife Luisa Palacios; five children, Alfonso Palacios and wife Adrianna, Lorena Palacios and husband Eduardo, Alejandro Palacios, Edward Arellano and wife Marisa, and Elena Arellano; his mother Manuela Arellano; brothers Gerardo Jaramillo, Guadalupe Jaramillo, Manuel Jaramillo, Jose Jaramillo, and Javier Jaramillo; sisters Rosa Jaramillo and Socorro Jaramillo; and nine grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials may be made to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church and can be left at the Melton Kitchens Funeral Home. Condolences may be made at meltonkitchens.com.
