Donnie Joe Brown, 81, of Breckenridge, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2024, with his family by his side.

Donnie, better known as Joe, was born July 16, 1943, in Spanish Fort, Texas. He spent about half his life working in the Oilfield and eventually owned a supply company. He was also a hard-working rancher, providing for his family. He worked for the city, and after 30 years of dedicated service, he retired and then worked for Raydon and the Redi-Mix quarry.

He was a hard-working man, respected by all he worked with and for, and as hard as he worked, he knew how to play hard, too!

From an early age, he provided for his family, who he loved and worked tirelessly for. He was a man devoted to life, and he will be missed in his death.

Joe is survived by his wife, Nelda, and sister, Becky Beckham; his son, Steve Brown; daughter, Donna Brown; and stepdaughter, Kelly Schroeder. He is also survived by his grandkids, Brooke Stockwell and Lacey Schroeder; great-grandkids, Trey Cox; and many others.

No service or register book at Joe’s request.

Memorials can be made in Joe’s honor to Cancer Research, and memorials may be left at the Melton Kitchens Funeral Home office. Condolences may be made at meltonkitchens.com.
