Maria Medina
Maria Medina, age 91, of Breckenridge, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2024. Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, September 16, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Joseph officiating. Interment will follow in the Breckenridge Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Sunday, September 15, at Morehart Mortuary.
Maria Del Consuelo Marentes was born June 2, 1933, in Tierra Blanca, Loreto Zacatecas, Mexico, to parents Encarnación Marentes Sanchez and Francisca Medina Moreno. She married Jose Guadalupe Puebla Palacios in Tierra Blanca, Mexico. She moved to the area in 1998 but often traveled back and forth to Mexico to visit family. Maria loved spending time with her family and helped raise her grandchildren. She never sat still and always stayed busy, cleaning, cooking, crocheting and taking care of animals. Maria was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, J. Jorge Puebla Marentes, Arturo Puebla Marentes; two infant daughters, Hilda Margarita and Juana Maria; grandson, Arturo Puebla II; and twin boy great-grandkids, Jesus and Guadalupe Ortiz.
Maria is survived by her children, J. Guadalupe Puebla Marentes and wife Magdalena, Jose Luis Puebla Marentes and wife Lidia, Fidel Puebla Marentes and wife Mercedes, Ana Maria Puebla Marentes, Hilda Margarita Puebla Marentes, Maria Elizabeth Puebla Marentes and husband Artemio; one sister, Maria De Jesus; thirty grandchildren; forty nine great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
