Breckenridge Buckaroos to host Wall Hawks in charity scrimmage at Buckaroo Stadium on Thursday

The Breckenridge High School Buckaroos are set to face off against the Wall High School Hawks in a football scrimmage at Buckaroo Stadium on Thursday, Aug. 22. The junior varsity game is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6:30 p.m.

Admission to the scrimmage will be free, and attendees will have an opportunity to donate to the Texas High School Coaches Education Foundation’s Benevolence Fund. Donations are not required to attend the scrimmage.

This event is part of the Texas High School Coaches Education Foundation’s (THSCEF) annual “Our Day to Shine,” and donations for the program will be accepted at the game. All proceeds from the donations will be donated to the THSCEF Benevolence Fund. The fund, established by the Texas High School Coaches Association Board of Directors, provides financial assistance to athletes and coaches experiencing hardships.

According to a news release from THSCEF, since its inception, “Our Day to Shine” has seen participation from over 1,165 schools and raised more than $721,000. To date, the THSCEF has distributed over $641,000 to those in need.
