Ruby Fay Berkley, age 86, of Wayland, passed away Monday, July 29, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 2, at Morehart Mortuary with Michael Hildreth officiating. Interment will follow in the Wayland Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 1, at Morehart Mortuary.

Ruby Fay Beauchamp was born August 3, 1937, in Weatherford, Texas, to Onice Lince Beauchamp and Rosie Bell Latham Beauchamp. On October 13, 1953, she married Charles Woodrow “Chock” Berkley in Breckenridge. She worked for Russell-Newman Manufacturing Company for several years before eventually going to work for Wal-Mart. She worked for Wal-Mart for 28 years until her retirement in 2021 at the age of 84. Ruby loved the Lord and was a member of the Church of Christ. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and loved spending time with her family.

Mrs. Berkley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three siblings, James Beauchamp, David Beauchamp, Dovie Abel; and two sons, Charles Berkley and Travis Berkley.

Ruby is survived by her children, Rena Berkley of Breckenridge, Charlotte McKee and husband Brian of Colorado, Yvonne Winger of Silsbee, Ronald Berkley of Saginaw, Vanessa Dooley and husband Chuck of Breckenridge, Carissa Berkley of Breckenridge, and Jayson Harris and wife Christina of Lincoln, Nebraska; two siblings, Carl Beauchamp and wife June, and Gladis Blackerby, all of Breckenridge; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
