James ‘Guy’ Thomas
Guy Thomas, 70, of Breckenridge, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2024, at his residence. A memorial service for Guy will be scheduled in the near future.
James “Guy” Thomas, Jr. was born on October 19, 1953, in Abilene, Texas. He was the second child and first son of James “Rock” Thomas, Sr and Jenny O’Docharty Thomas. He was our redheaded daredevil and absolutely fearless. He married Nelda Marie Walton on December 9, 2002, in Abilene, Texas. Their home was a refuge for anyone that was down on their luck and needed help. Guy was a strong person that met all challenges head on. He loved unconditionally and if you were his friend, his loyalty never wavered. His quick wit and sly grin were most endearing.
Guy worked for the family businesses (Thomas Operating, The Re-Entry People, Inc. and Susanna Corp.) most of his life. Guy moved to Breckenridge, Texas, in 2021 to live with his sister, after having a stroke. Special thank you to Dr. Windsor and all those that aided in his care in these last 3 years. Special thank you to Conniece Merson. Conniece’s dedication and assistance allowed Karen to take care of Guy in her home. We also want to acknowledge Guy’s best friend, John Dudley, for all his calls, encouragement, and support all through Guy’s illness.
Guy was preceded in death by his parents Rock and Jenny Thomas. He is survived by his wife, Nelda; his sister Karen Martin; his brother Mark Thomas (wife Mary); his niece Jama Lea Wiggins (husband Billy); and his great-niece Kailyn Wiggins.
