Bobby Waggoner
Bobby Waggoner, 90, of Breckenridge, Texas, passed away on June 19, 2024. Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home has been entrusted with His cremation. In honor of his memory, and at his request, there will be no public service.
Bobby Dan Waggoner was born to Jess and Pearl Waggoner in Pioneer, Stephens County, Texas, on August 14, 1933. He graduated from High School in June 1952 and joined the Navy shortly afterward, in July 1952.
Bobby was married to Shirley Dorman in July 1960 in Bothell, Washington. The couple enjoyed many things throughout their long life together until her passing. One of the highlights of their marriage was the birth of their daughter, Danielle.
Outside his family, Bobby was an accomplished pilot who flew all over the United States in his own plane, he was also a faithful member as a Mason locally.
With faithful dedication, Bobby served his country as a naval mechanic for nearly 21 years, including a tour of duty in the Vietnam War. He retired from service in January 1973, holding the esteemed rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer.
Transitioning from military life, Bobby moved to Oregon, where he spent 5 years working in the Auto Parts & Machine sector. In 1978, he made another significant move to Everett, Washington, to work for the Seaford & Cold Storage Company. His role as a Chief Engineer took him between Everett and Alaska.
In 2010, Bobby returned to Breckenridge to become a rancher. He loved this job and only stopped when his age caught up with him.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Pearl; his wife Shirley; three sisters, Gene, Janis, and Nell; and two brothers, Jay and Doyle.
He is survived by his daughter, Danielle Cooper, who was the light of his life.
