Delia Pauline Pendleton, 99, of Breckenridge, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 24, 2024, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at the Melton Kitchens Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Samantha Chambers officiating. Interment to follow at the Moon Cemetery under the direction of Melton Kitchens Funeral Home.

Pauline was born in Breckenridge, Texas, to parents Claude and Lena Loudder on June 11, 1924. She lived in Breckenridge her entire life, graduating as a Buckaroo in May 1942. Pauline went to college in Stephenville at John Tarleton College. After returning from college, she was offered a job at the First National Bank at the original site of the bank. It was there she met H.R. Pendleton that she fell in love with and married in June of 1957.

After their marriage, Pauline became a housewife as H.R. was working on the ranch and at a local gas plant until his retirement. The couple were blessed with two sons, Randy and Gary. Upon Pauline’s wishes, the family always did everything together. She didn’t want it any other way. Even if the entire family was going out to check cows in the extreme heat or cold, they all traveled in a single cab truck together to complete the needed chores at the ranch. If there was ever any free time, you would catch Pauline having coffee at the local bank with her lady friends.

During her life, the family was her main priority, but she always seemed to find time to serve others in her community. Pauline was the last charter member of the Women’s Forum, Senior Citizen Center, and a faithful member of St. Paul’s Methodist Church. If you were fortunate enough to receive her motherly advice, just know it came with an index finger pointing at you as she spoke, even if you didn’t ask for it, but one of her greatest qualities was that she always put others’ needs above her own.

Pauline is preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Lena Loudder; sister, Pat Spoon and husband, Marvin; and, granddaughter, Kelena Gillespie.

She is survived by her sons, Gary Pendleton and wife Annette of Maybank, and Randy Pendleton and wife Christie of Woodson; grandchildren, Curry Pendleton and wife Kellie, Cory Pendleton, Cole Gillespie and wife Tori, Tyler Brooks, Jeannie Killian and husband Andrew;and nine great-grandchildren.

Memorials can be made in Pauline’s name to St. Paul’s Methodist Church and may be left at the Melton Kitchens Funeral Home office. Condolences may be made at meltonkitchens.com.
