Randy Woods, 67, of Baird, Texas, passed away on April 7, 2024. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 12, at the Necessity Cemetery, with JB Sparks officiating.

Randy Woods was born on June 20, 1956, to parents, Bobby Gene and Martha Woods, in Coke County, Texas. Most of Randy’s young adult life was spent in the Wichita Falls area until graduation from high school. While in high school, he became an active member of the ROTC program.

As a career, Randy had numerous jobs in the oil fields and eventually received his CDL and, for the largest portion of his life, drove a truck until his retirement. There were many things he loved over the course of his life, fishing at his favorite spot in Graford, Texas. After a big fishing weekend, he loved to clean and cook the catfish that he caught; it was a highlight of the trip, of course, while listening to his favorite country music loudly.

Something his family remembers about him is how he enjoyed the yard work wherever he lived. Randy and his father, George, were known as the wrecking crew at the old Belvania Club. There were many memories of the good times he had at the Belvania and how he never passed up an opportunity to hit the dance floor while some of his favorite tunes were blaring across the bar.

He also was a faithful fan, no matter how many games they lost or won, of the Dallas Cowboys!

Randy is preceded in death by his parents, Bobby Gene Woods, Martha Iles and step-father, George Iles; brothers Pete and Billy Woods.

Randy is survived by his wife, Erma Jean Woods; daughters, Tonya Strickland, Michelle Woods, and Kristen Fonseca; sons, Randy, Justin and Jason Woods; sisters, Bobbie “Tinker” Woods and Sandra Kay Long; brothers, Timothy Iles and Roger Iles; a very dear aunt, Clara West; along with 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
