Audelia Fuqua, age 83, of Woodson, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2024. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, January 22, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Breckenridge. Interment will follow in the Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Rosary will be recited from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, January 21, at Morehart Mortuary.

Audelia Hernandez was born March 5, 1940, in Marathon, Texas, to parents David Hernandez and Eulojia Garcia. She attended schools in Marathon. On May 16, 1975, Della married Homer “Jay” Lawrence Fuqua, Jr. She was very family oriented and loved spending time with her family especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Della enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. She also liked to dance and go fishing with Jay.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and four brothers, Pedro Garcia, Daniel Hernandez, Tony Hernandez and Raymond Hernandez.

Della is survived by two daughters, Delores Fuqua of Woodson and Jo Ann Lujan of Kermit; two sisters, Gloria Miller of Woodson and Rosa Perez of Breckenridge; six grandchildren, Erica Lopez, Andrea Urias, Joshua Lujan, Anna Fuqua, David Torales and Jaci Andrews; twelve great-grandchildren and two more on the way- and two great-great-grandchildren.
