Breckenridge High School Coach Bryan Goehring praised Ragle’s dedication and hard work, highlighting her integral role in the team’s success in recent years.

“This huge individual accomplishment is a testament to her hard work and dedication the past four years,” Goehring said in a post on Facebook. “Zaea has been a huge part of the program for the past four years, notching two playoff appearances and a bi-district championship. Zaea is the epitome of a student-athlete being at the top of her class academically while also garnering team and individual honors on the court. She is the standard toward which every Lady Buckaroo should strive. Congratulations, Zaea!”

The game was stopped, and Ragle was presented with a 1,000-point ball and a banner honoring her accomplishment. Additionally, she is going to be honored at the Buckaroos’ home game Friday night, Nov. 17, against the Haskell High School Maidens. There will be a brief ceremony between the JV and Varsity games, which are scheduled to start at 5 p.m. and about 6 p.m., respectively, in the Breckenridge High School’s Athletics Center (main gym), 607 W. Second St.

Lady Bucks vs. Lady Bulldogs

In the Nov. 14 game against the Lady Bulldogs in Clyde, the Lady Buckaroos dominated the court, securing a decisive 61-32 victory.

“The Lady Bucks played some great, high-energy defense that led to Lady Bulldogs turnovers and transition points,” Goehring said in a game report online. “Some of the girls on the team are finally starting to get their shooting rhythm back, and it showed on the offense Tuesday evening. I am excited to see things we are working on translating on the court during games.”

Ragle led the Buckaroos with 18 points, 11 rebounds and seven steals; Kaysi Wilcox had 17 points, eight assists and seven steals; and, Karsyn Smalley had 13 points, six rebounds and three steals.

Lady Buckaroos vs. Lady Mustangs

On Nov. 11, the Lady Buckaroos hosted the Lady Mustangs from Wichita Falls’ City View High School. Breckenridge came up short, and the Lady Mustangs won the game, 40-31.

“The Lady Bucks played a tough, non-district game against the #12 ranked Lady Mustangs from City View on Saturday, November 11th,” Goehring said in an online report. “The girls fought hard on defense and held the Lady Mustangs to the lowest point total for a Lady Buck opponent so far this season. We are still trying to find our offensive identity, but the girls are working hard in practice to get better in all aspects of the game.”

In the Nov. 11 game, Wilcox was the leading Buckaroo scorer with nine points and five rebounds; Ragle scored eight points and had three rebounds; and, Mia Castillo made five points and had two rebounds. (Stats are missing from the last 3:45 of the game, according to the BISD report.)
