Mark Evan Spencer, 63, of Breckenridge, Texas, passed from this life to be with his Lord and Savior, surrounded by his loved ones, on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. His memorial service at Gunsight Baptist Church will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, with Patrick Frishe officiating.

Mark was born on July 22, 1960, in Breckenridge, to David “Butch” Spencer and Glenda Sue (Abraham) Spencer. Mark was an outstanding builder and worked in construction most of his life. He loved the Lord, gave his heart to Jesus, and completed a Bachelor of Christian Education degree with High Honor: Magna Cum Laude.

Mark has gone on to be with our heavenly Father. He will be missed, but not forgotten, as he leaves behind family who will remember him fondly. He will be remembered for his patience, support, and great sense of humor, as well as his unwavering love of family and all of nature’s creatures. He was rich in love, kindness, and an endless supply of wisdom.

John 16:22 states, “Therefore you too have grief now; but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take that joy away from you.”

Mark is survived by his son, Jason Spencer of Breckenridge; daughter, Kayla Ellis and husband Ronny of Breckenridge; grandson, Jackson Ellis; mother, Glenda Sue Spencer of Breckenridge; brothers, Johnny Spencer and wife D ’Ann of Breckenridge, and Ronnie Spencer of Weatherford; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, David “Butch” Spencer, and grandparents, Glen and Mary Abraham, as well as Theda and John Walter Spencer.
