Shine to perform at National Theatre on Saturday, Nov. 4

06:03 2023

The National Theatre of Breckenridge will host the bluegrass band Shine in concert on Saturday, Nov. 4.

Advance tickets to the concert purchased online cost $20 for adults and $10 for students. They may be purchased online (click here) or at the door (for $25/adults and $15/student), if there are still seats available.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. on Saturday with the concert beginning at 7 p.m. The concert, which is part of the National Theatre’s 2023-24 concert series, is being presented by Blackhorse Mercantile & Cafe, which will also be serving wine and beer in the theater’s bar area (must be 21 to drink, valid ID required) at an additional cost. A reception will be held after the concert.

Shine is composed of four musicians with a love for acoustic music. Their repertoire is representative of the players’ varied strengths, including swing, bluegrass and country, but you may hear an oldie or two thrown in for good measure.

Band members include Marlys Coursey (fiddle, vocals), Glenn Mitchell (mandolin, vocals), Jeff Mitchell (bass, vocals), and Dave Ratliff (guitar, vocals). They were last here in 2021, not long before a hail storm damaged the National Theatre’s roof, requiring major renovations throughout the historic theater in downtown Breckenridge. They were scheduled to perform in June but had to cancel because of illness.

The National Theatre is located at 116 E. Walker  St. in downtown Breckenridge. For more information, visit the National Theatre’s Facebook page or website.
