Artie Corine McGuire
Artie Corine McGuire, 82, of Boerne, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, September 23, 2023. Her graveside service at Necessity Cemetery will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2023.
Artie Corine (Smith) McGuire was born on January 23, 1941, to William Stanley Smith and Artie Olive Bussell Smith. Raised in and around Weatherford, Texas, Corine was a loving, selfless, and strong-willed young girl. One of the reasons is that she had four brothers: two older, Gene and Ed, and two younger, Jimmy and Billy.
She met and fell in love with Harley Ray McGuire. He was 23, and she was 22; and they were married on July 2, 1964, in Seminole, Texas. A few years later, they were blessed with their first son, David Wade, born on October 21, 1966. Two years later, they had twin boys, Mark Heath and Brian Keith. Then, eight years later, Corine insisted on having another baby, wishing for a girl. Denise Corine was born on her father’s birthday, May 3.
Most of Corine’s life was being a wonderful mother, grandma, and housewife. Her first job was working at the Super Dog, where she met her future husband. While she was married, she worked as a CNA for a few years in the ’90s. Her first priority was always taking care of her family.
Corine loved to read love stories. Her favorites were the Westerns due to the fact that the bad guy always lost and love always won. Her heart was always full of love, and she enjoyed keeping it full, either through fiction or through family. Corine loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In so many pictures, she is looking at a loved one and smiling instead of looking at the camera.
Corine was preceded in death by her husband, Harley Ray; son, David Wade; parents, Stanley and Artie Smith; and three of her four brothers, Eugene Smith, Jimmy Smith, and Billy Smith.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Mark Heath McGuire, Brian Keith McGuire and wife Stacy, and Denise Corine McGuire and fiancé Buck; grandchildren, Baylie McGuire, Sawyer McGuire and wife Bethany, Madison Lewallen and husband Austin, Nichole Dominguez and husband Francisco, Kaitlyn McGuire, Sydney Cokonougher and husband Kyle, Ayden McGuire, Hayden Nicole Heath, and Harper Jo Heath; along with ten great-grandchildren: Rhylee, Mack, Carter, Evelyn, Luna, Oliver, Jaxson, Kinsley, Haegen, and Roper.
I love you more, no I love you more… Corine always won those conversations.
In memory of Corine, the family is asking for sympathy cards and rose bulb donations to be mailed to 13 Pfeifer Road, Boerne, Texas 78006. The bulbs will be planted and cultivated for the flower vases on the headstone monument. Condolences can be made online at meltonkitchens.com
