‘Pink Out’ t-shirts to raise funds for Our Town organization to assist local cancer patients
The deadline to get the name of a loved one who has had cancer on the Stephens County Our Town 2023 Pink Out t-shirt is Wednesday, Sept. 20.
The shirt, created for the Oct. 6 Buckaroo “Pink Out” football game, will include names in honor of or in memory of loved ones who have had cancer. The cost is $75 to add a name to the back of the t-shirt; the name can be of a cancer survivor, lost loved one to cancer, or even someone currently battling the disease. Funds will benefit Stephens County Our Town, a non-profit organization that helps families in Stephens County who are battling cancer. To add a name, contact The Shirt Shop at 254-559-2775.
The “Pink Out” game is held each year during October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, to raise local awareness about the disease. Although anyone who wants to participate in the awareness campaign can wear any form of pink to the Oct. 6 football game, the funds raised through the sale of the 2023 Pink Out t-shirts will benefit the Stephens County Our Town organization.
Our Town was started by Eva Cantrell and her husband, Bacel Cantrell, about 12 years ago. All of the money the organization raises stays in Stephens County. In the past, it has been used to help cancer patients get their cars repaired, fix their air conditioners, pay insurance co-pays, buy gasoline, and more. If a cancer patient needs assistance, the organization will take a look at their specific situation and determine how they can help.
The t-shirts are available in short sleeves, long sleeves, in a Dri-Fit Tee style, and as a sweatshirt, at prices ranging from $17 to $34, depending on the style and size. To order a t-shirt click here.
