A cake fundraiser to help Breckenridge resident Richard Martyniuk will be held through July 31. There is also a GoFundMe account and a local bank account set up for additional donations.

To order one or more cakes made fresh from Mimzy’s Kitchen (Sarah Brogdon), call Sarah at 254-246-0924 or Terri Sanders at 254-212-0074. The deadline to order a cake is Monday, July 31.

The Bundt cakes cost $20 each, and you can choose from the following options:

  • Chocolate zucchini cake
  • Strawberry with strawberry cream cheese frosting
  • Blueberry muffin cake
  • Sock it to me cake *please let them know if you do not want pecans
  • Sugar free chocolate w/whipped cream cheese frosting

The cakes will be available for pickup on Aug. 2 or Aug. 4, whichever day the buyer chooses. Proceeds will be donated to Richard.

Richard has prostate cancer and will be undergoing 44 radiation treatments over eight weeks in August. He will be staying at Hendrick League House in Abilene during the course of his treatment. A GoFundMe account has been set up to help pay for medical bills, but the Cake Fundraiser will help him with food and other supplies he will need during and after his treatment.

In addition to or in lieu of the Cake Fundraiser, you can make a donation via GoFundMe (click here) or through an account set up at Clear Fork Bank in Breckenridge (formerly First National Bank of Albany/Breckenridge) — call the bank at 254-559-2222 and let them know that you’d like to make a donation to the account set up for Richard Martyniuk.
