Thursday, Dec. 19
Visit with Santa
Santa will be on hand to visit with children at the Stephens Memorial Hospital’s business office, 207 S. Geneva Ave., from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19. There will be photo ops and a chance for the kids to get those last minute wishes in. The elves from Solaris Healthcare will also be on-site with a hot cocoa bar to warm everyone up.

Last day of fall semester for BISD
Breckenridge school kids will wrap up the fall semester on Thursday, Dec. 19. School will be out for the Christmas holiday through the beginning of January. Classes will resume on Monday, Jan. 6, 2025.
Friday, Dec. 20
Deadline for Museum’s Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest
The Swenson Memorial Museum will host an online Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest. To enter, visit the museum’s Facebook page and submit a picture of yourself wearing your ugliest Christmas sweater. The deadline is 3 p.m. Dec. 20. The winner of the contest will win a Christmas gift basket donated by Huntington Coaching.
Friday, Dec. 20
Citizens Academy registration deadline
The City of Breckenridge will host a Citizens Academy, beginning Jan. 13. The Citizens Academy will be a free nine-month course held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on the second Monday of each month through September. It will provide a comprehensive and in-depth look at how the City of Breckenridge operates. The registration deadline is Dec. 20, and the program will be limited to 25 participants. Dec. 20-22
Holiday Events at KOA Campground
The Breckenridge KOA Campground is hosting a variety of events at their local location, 2833 W. Walker St.; some events will be free and others will have a small charge. There will be a “Craft Weekend” on Dec 20-22 will feature a movie night, crafts, and ornament making. Check with the KOA office for more details, including times and costs.
Wednesday, Dec. 25
Christmas Day
Christmas Day will be Wednesday, Dec. 25. Many local businesses and government offices will be closed. Some businesses may be closed or close early on Tuesday, Dec. 24, Christmas Eve, as well.
