Nieves ‘Nace’ Diaz
Nieves “Nace” Diaz was born on July 29, 1960, to Bartolo “B.C.” Diaz and Evangelina “Eva” (Solis) Diaz. He passed from this world at the age of 62 in Abilene, Texas, on Sunday, April 2, 2023. Nace was raised in Breckenridge, Texas. He was the third oldest of seven children, and his favorite pastime was fishing. He met and fell in love with Melissa Pugh and had one daughter, Sierra Elissa Pugh (age 30, of Graham, Texas).
Nace was preceded in death by his parents, B.C. and Eva, sister, Mary; brother, Robert; and one nephew, Jayson.
He is survived by his daughter, Sierra; granddaughters, Khloe, Brynlee, and Ariyah; sisters, Josie and husband H.T. Fillingham of Rotan, Texas, Sally Diaz of Breckenridge, Tina and husband James Toland of Marion, Ohio, and Linda and husband James Cameron of Breckenridge; along with many nieces and nephews.
If tears could build a stairway and memories, a lane, I’d walk right up to Heaven and bring you home again.
A memorial service celebrating Nace’s life will be held at Corley’s Landing on Hubbard Creek Lake on the afternoon of Saturday, April 8, 2023. Lanterns will be released at sunset in his memory. Condolences can be made online at meltonkitchens.com.
