Barbara Cross McAnally, of Breckenridge, Texas, passed into eternal life on Friday, March 17, 2023. She was 91 years old.

Barbara was born on November 21, 1931, in Barstow, Texas, to Charles and Annie Cross. She graduated as valedictorian from Bartow High School in 1949. Barbara and Delton McAnally were married on December 24, 1949, in Carlsbad, New Mexico. They had two sons, John Allen and Paul Craig. Barbara and Delton lived in Pecos, Texas, until 1960. They called Kermit, Texas, home until 1968, and then moved to Breckenridge.

Barbara was an active member of the Elliott Street Church of Christ. She found joy in being part of her church and her local community. Barbara had an insurmountable love and care for all people. She went out of her way to make everyone feel loved, valued, and welcomed. She was often thinking of others in her special, sweet way. Barbara enjoyed family, friends, cooking, and storytelling. She lived in a way that exemplified Christ to all that knew her.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Annie Cross; and her husband, Delton McAnally, who passed away on September 21, 2014.

Barbara is survived by her sons, John McAnally and wife Cathy of Canyon, Texas, and Paul McAnally and wife Linda of Hearne, Texas; grandchildren, Tiffany and Gary Fisk, Matthew and Kyla McAnally, Joe and Christina Nelson, Samuel and Sarah McAnally, Carrie and Ryan Ho, Dawit McAnally, and Tigist McAnally; great-grandchildren, Jace Fisk, Brock Fisk, Emersyn McAnally, Hannah McAnally, Abigail McAnally, Kylie Ho, and Oliver Ho; along with her sister, Nicky Owens; brother-in-law, Bruce Owens; and brother-in-law, Cleo Scott.

Barbara’s funeral service at the Elliott Street Church of Christ will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 22, 2023. Don Nelson will officiate. The family will welcome friends for a visitation at the funeral home from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2023.

Memorial donations in Barbara’s name can be made to the West of the Pecos Museum, in Pecos, Texas, and can be left at Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home. Condolences can be made online at meltonkitchens.com
