DA’s Office announces plea deals for December, January and February

Stephens County District Attorney Dee Peavy’s office recently released the following list of plea deals that were made in the 90th Judicial District Court.

December 2022

  • Ryan Michael Mendez, 33, Breckenridge, pleaded guilty to the offense of Evading Arrest or Detention with Previous Conviction, and was sentenced to four years community supervision, and ordered to pay a $1,000 fine, restitution, and court costs.

January 2023

  • Matthew Dean Vega, 39, Breckenridge, pleaded true to the allegations in the State’s Motion Adjudicate Community Supervision for the offense of Possession of Controlled Substance PG 1/1-B One Gram or More But Less Than Four Grams – Methamphetamine – Lesser Included Offense, and was sentenced to 10 years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice – Institutional Division (TDCJ-ID), and ordered to pay remaining fine and court costs.
  • Roger Carlton Ritter, Jr., 41, Breckenridge, pleaded guilty to the offense of Engage in Organized Criminal Activity, and was sentenced to five years community supervision, and ordered to pay $1,500 fine and court costs; and pleaded guilty to the offense of Possession of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1/1-B Four Grams or More but Less Than 200 Grams – Methamphetamine, and was sentenced to five years community supervision, and ordered to pay $500 fine, restitution, and court costs.
  • Gary Wayne Ellett, 43, Breckenridge, pleaded guilty to the offense of Possession of Controlled Substance One Gram or More but Less Than Four Grams – Methamphetamine, and was sentenced to four years community supervision, and ordered to pay $500 fine, restitution, and court costs.
  • Michael Anthony Marin, 34, Breckenridge, pleaded guilty to the offense of Evading Arrest/Detention with Vehicle and was sentenced to four years community supervision, and ordered to pay $500 fine and court costs.
  • Zachary Bryant Porteous, 30, Breckenridge, pleaded guilty to the offense of Assault Causes Bodily Injury – Lesser Included, and was sentenced to two years community supervision, and to pay $4,000 fine and court costs.

February 2023

  • Jessica Nicole Wells, 37, Breckenridge, pleaded guilty to the offense of Possession of Controlled Substance Four Grams or More but Less Than 200 Grams – Methamphetamine – Lesser Included Offense, and was sentenced to five years community supervision, and ordered to pay $500 fine, court costs, and restitution.
