Larry “Hondo” Hudson, age 73, of Grandfalls, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2023. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 31, at First Baptist Church in Moran with Rev. Luke Spraberry officiating. Interment will follow in the Moran Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday, January 30, at Morehart Mortuary in Albany.

Larry Jack Hudson was born September 23, 1949, in Coleman, Texas, to Jack Kenneth Hudson and Doris Marie Kidd Hudson. He was a lifetime resident of Shackelford County and graduated from Moran ISD in 1967. He attended Sul Ross State University and graduated in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Range Animal Science. He served on the Moran ISD board for thirteen years and eleven for the Shackelford County Appraisal District.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Doris Hudson; and one brother, Russell Hudson.

Hondo is survived by his three daughters, Keri Hebel and husband Allen of Albany, Tera Clarkson and husband Jeff of Plano, and Josi Hudson and fiancé Mike Sawyers of Albany; four siblings, Mike Hudson and wife Sally of Ranger, Debbie Rumage and husband Jim of Graham, Randy Hudson and wife Teri of Moran, and Becky Hollabaugh and husband Rodger of Breckenridge; six grandchildren, Trent Clarkson, Malorie Clarkson, Macey Clarkson, Ayden Balliew, Mikenze Sawyers, and Michaela Sawyers; and two great-grandchildren, Stetson Huff and Sable Huff.

Memorials may be made to the Moran Cemetery Association and may be left at Morehart Mortuary. Condolences may be made online at morehartmortuary.net.
