The Breckenridge Woman’s Forum enjoyed a Hawaiian Christmas for their December meeting.

Shonda Wood

The hostesses presented everyone with leis as they entered the building, and the tropical decorations were fun and festive. The hostesses for the meeting were Mona Craig, Adele Jones, Linda Burdic, Linda Lippe, Lynda Justus, Jackie Judkins, Dana McKelvain and Glynda Cessna. They also serenaded the group with the song “Mele Kalikimaka! (Merry Christmas!).”

The meal was provided by Ernie’s, and Pat Knight won the door prize.

Elizabeth Power, community projects chairman, announced that the organization surpassed their goal for the library fundraiser, and she thanked everyone who so generously contributed.

The members then enjoyed a beautiful Christmas program by Shonda Wood and the Griffith Family. Erin Griffith narrated with scripture the story of Jesus’s birth, and Wood and the Griffith girls —  Emma, Sara Kate, Hanna Grace and Joyanna — provided the music and singing.

The Breckenridge Texan is in the midst of our annual fundraising campaign with the national organization NewsMatch. Donations made through the end of December will be matched, dollar-for-dollar, by NewsMatch, and, if we meet our goal of $4,000 raised, we’ll get an additional match. That will triple every donation given to the Breckenridge Texan. The Breckenridge Texan is a non-profit news website covering Stephens County and Breckenridge, Texas, that depends on donations, as well as advertising, to continue our work. We appreciate your contributions. To make a donation, click here.
