Raydene and her husband, Jack, met at a rodeo in Texas and then spent the next 71 glorious years together until his passing in 2021. Together they had two daughters, Linda Marks and Diane Bartlett.

Raydene had an adventuresome and exciting life. As a young wife, she packed up their babies and belongings and moved with Jack from Texas to the logging camps of New Mexico and Colorado. After ten years in New Mexico, the couple returned to Texas to raise their two young teenage daughters.

Raydene was a Christian who exemplified being able to ‘Walk the Walk.’ She was a giver and was always thinking of others. This included visiting those that were sick and in need. She lived her life with Proverbs 15:1 guiding her way — “A soft answer turneth away wrath.”

Mamaw always had a smile on her face and was an inspiration to all those that knew her. She had a beautiful voice, and you could oftentimes find her singing in many of the rest home communities. She had a Happy Spirit that was evident to everyone who knew her. Raydene was also a gifted seamstress who designed and made beautiful clothes for the family and others.

Along with her daughters, Raydene is also survived by her granddaughter, Tammy, as well as three great-grandsons and two great-great-grandsons.

Donations in memory of Raydene can be made to the American Cancer Society. Donations can be made online at cancer.org or can be dropped off at the Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home office. Condolences can be made online at meltonkitchens.com
