Sheila Elaine McConnell Workman, 72, passed from this life at her residence on Tuesday, October 18, 2022. Sheila was buried at Veale Creek Cemetery on Saturday, October 22, 2022. A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at the Woman’s Forum in Breckenridge, with Rex Boggs and Gary Bear officiating.

Sheila was born in Breckenridge, Texas, on July 21, 1950, to parents Harwell “HG” McConnell and Cornelia Elaine O’Connor McConnell. She graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1969. Sheila married Edd Workman on November 1, 1994. Sheila was passionate about ranching and the cowboy way of life as well as helping others. Sheila loved spending time with her family and friends. She was the life of the party.

The Sunshine of Sheila’s life were Sha Copeland, Kipi Copeland Deiley, Kody Mac Wooten, and Pecos Wooten. These were her children, maybe not by birth, but she helped raise these kids along with kids of friends and neighbors. She was the “Momma” of all the kids.

Sheila’s survivors include Edd C Workman of Possum Kingdom, along with his daughter, Melinda Workman Harvey, and son-in-law, Shaun Harvey; son, Joe Edd Workman of Mineral Wells, Texas; sisters, Phyllis Copeland Stephen and husband Joel of Strawn, Texas; Connie “Mule” Wooten and husband Kenneth of Breckenridge; nephews, Shalor “Sha” Copeland, III and wife Kimberley, Kody Mac Wooten and wife Amy, and Pecos Wooten and wife Christin; niece, Kipi Copeland Deiley and husband Chad; along with many, many great-nephews and -nieces, caretakers, and close friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her parents.

Memorial donations in Sheila’s name can be made to a charity or organization of the donor’s choice.
