Dorothy Smith
Dorothy Smith, age 87, of Breckenridge, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2022. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, in the Breckenridge Cemetery with Pastor Herman “Butch” Hinkle officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, at Morehart Mortuary.
Dorothy Mae Evett was born April 9, 1935, in Stevenson, Alabama, to parents James Newton Evett and Emma Mae Bennett Evett. Dorothy attended Bronte High School. On May 18, 1953, she married Thomas Willard Smith, Jr. in Robert Lee, Texas. Dorothy was a homemaker and attended Trinity Baptist Church in Breckenridge. She enjoyed spending time with family and loved her pets and horses. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband.
Dorothy is survived by two children, Judy Langrill and husband Larry, and Roger Smith and wife Sue, all of Graham; one sister, Alma Oliphant of Lamarque; five grandchildren, Misty Ford and husband Dana, Thomas Harris, Tiffany Armstrong, Ryan Smith and wife Grace, and Michelle Booher; eight great-grandchildren, Lacee Ford, Emma Ford, Gracy Mae Faith Harris, Kristin Taylor, Trent Taylor, Caroline Armstrong, Jack Armstrong, and Harrison Armstrong; and five great-great-grandchildren.
