Elks Lodge makes donation to Breckenridge Meals on Wheels
The Breckenridge Elks Lodge #1480 donated $2,000 to the local Meals on Wheels organization Monday, Sept. 19.
The funds came from a grant that the local Elks Lodge applied for and received specifically for helping out groups in the community, Elks Exalted Ruler Lena Stockton said.
Peggy Holder, the Breckenridge Meals on Wheels coordinator, said the donation will pay for 500 meals. Meals on Wheels delivers hot meals to 75 home-bound senior citizens in Breckenridge every Tuesday and Thursday. Stephens Memorial Hospital delivers meals on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
