Marileigh Miley, 72, of Breckenridge, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and loved ones on Thursday, August 4, 2022. Her funeral service at Bethany Baptist Church will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2022. Her family will welcome friends for a visitation in the Melton-Kitchens Chapel on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, from 6:00-7:00 p.m.

Marileigh was born on August 23, 1949, to parents E.T. Mullican and Wanda O. (Shirley) Mullican. After graduating from Breckenridge High School, Marileigh became an active member of her community and church. She was very passionate about music. You could find her playing piano at Sunday services or singing her favorite old-time hymns to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her involvement with the church, Marileigh was also a skilled seamstress – a highly sought-after talent she used to help many people with for decades. From hemming pants to creating beautiful dresses for all occasions, she could always be found in her sewing room working away.

Marileigh greatly valued family. Holiday gatherings at her house were always filled with love and laughter. If one thing was certain, it’s that you would never leave her house hungry! Marileigh leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. Her life was a blessing, and her memory will be treasured. She was loved beyond measure and will be greatly missed by those who knew her. Her kind heart and generous acts of service will be a lasting legacy of Marileigh’s.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Miley, along with her parents, E.T. and Wanda.

Marileigh leaves behind her three sons, Phillip Miley of Mineral Wells, David Miley (Tammie) of Granbury, and Steven Miley (Misty) of Ranger; her sister, Janis Hiler of Rowlett; along with grandchildren Jaylon Murphy, Randall Miley, Addyson Miley, and Colton Miley; step-grandsons, Brock Hein and Chad Casey; and two great-grandchildren, Hannah Murphy and Olivia Murphy.

Memorial donations in her name may be made to the Stephens County Human Society and can be left at Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home. Condolences can be made online at meltonkitchens.com.
