Wanda Crow Rowell, 88, of Breckenridge, died on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Breckenridge. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home. Close family will gather for a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 20, 2022, at Post Oak Cemetery.

Wanda was born on June 1, 1934, in Soper, Oklahoma, to W.A. and Iva B. Crow and was the youngest of her siblings. After her family moved to Breckenridge, Wanda graduated from Breckenridge High School. Following graduation, she worked for the telephone company. During her time there, she met Bobby Ray Rowell, Sr. The couple married on September 24, 1953. Wanda then worked as a hairdresser in Breckenridge for many years. She was a member of the People’s Church and enjoyed praising the Lord through singing songs and hymns.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, her husband Bobby in 2014, and grandson Roy Wendell Knust in 1976. She is survived by her son, Bobby Rowell Jr. and wife Debbie of Eastland; daughters, Pamela Knust of Breckenridge, and Tonya Mehaffey and husband Kirk of Fort Worth; along with nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations in Wanda’s name can be made to Meals on Wheels and can be left at Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home. Condolences can be made online at meltonkitchens.com.
