Juan Rodolfo Flores
Juan R. Flores, 70, of Alvarado, Texas, passed from this life on June 14, 2022, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, in the Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home chapel with Raul Duran, Sr. officiating. Interment to follow at the Breckenridge Cemetery under the direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home. The family will welcome friends for a visitation at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, June 20, 2022.
Juan Rodolfo Flores was born on November 9, 1951, in McAllen, Texas, to parents, Rodolfo and Maria Flores. After high school, Juan spent most of his adult life as a truck driver. Mr. Flores was a lifetime resident of Breckenridge who worked for Phibro Energy. Upon his retirement, he moved to the Metroplex to be closer to his sons. Over the last ten years of his retirement, he enjoyed not only being surrounded by his family but also taking care of his yard and pruning the trees on his large lot. His detailed yard work was something in which he took much pride.
Many people would say that they don’t care to be bossed around by others, but Juan loved the fact his grandchildren bossed him around. Juan absolutely adored his grandchildren. He made sure every chance he got to let them know that their grandfather had their back! After a lifelong career of driving a truck, one of the things he didn’t care for was driving in the Metroplex traffic. Because of this, he enjoyed staying at home and spending his time surrounded by his family.
Juan is survived by his sons, Hector, Adalberto, Juan (and wife Priscila), and Nohe, along with six grandchildren.
