Eva Jean Weatherford was born December 23, 1931, in Ivan, Texas, to John Lesley Weatherford and Eula Norris Weatherford. Jean attended Breckenridge schools and married her high school sweetheart, Hal Blevins, on August 6, 1949. Right after their marriage, Hal joined the Army and was stationed at Fort Bragg in Fayetteville, North Carolina for a brief time. They returned to Breckenridge where they had their first child. Hal was recalled to active duty and was stationed at Fort Hood in Killeen for a short time before returning to Breckenridge where their son was born. The family then moved to Midland where their other two children were born and their foster son joined the family. Jean worked for years at Commercial Bank before taking a job with the District Clerk’s office in Midland. After their last child graduated high school, they began the search for a lake home for their retirement and decided why not moved home. They moved back to Breckenridge in 1979, where she worked for the City of Breckenridge until her retirement in 1992. She was an active member of the Elliott Street Church of Christ where she had been a Bible School teacher in the cradle roll. She attended Ladies Bible Class regularly and was loved by many.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, John Lesley Weatherford and Eula Norris Weatherford; her husband, Hal Blevins; one sister, Betty Davidson; one son, Carl Tune; two sons-in-law, Danny Howk and Jimmie Duke.
