In honor of National Blood Donor Month, Stephens Memorial Hospital will host a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 31.

The Carter BloodCare bus will be at the hospital, 200 S. Geneva St., for the blood drive.

To schedule a time to donate blood, click here.

Everyone who donates will have their blood tested for COVID-19 antibodies. The antibodies test does not test for the actual coronavirus itself. The test indicates whether or not a person’s body has produced antibodies against the virus.

According to information from Carter BloodCare,  it takes less than an hour to donate whole blood, and individuals may donate blood every 56 days.

Anyone who wants to donate blood can check their eligibility on the Carter BloodCare site, as well as complete an online “Quick Screen” in advance of the blood drive. For more information about the donation process, click here.

For more information about the upcoming blood drive, call Chris Curtis with Stephens Memorial Hospital at 254-559-3363.
