Myrtle Smith
Myrtle Smith, age 95, of Breckenridge, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, in the Hart Cemetery with Pastor Dennis Hall officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 28, at Morehart Mortuary.
Myrtle Marie Smith was born March 20, 1926, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Orvil Lee Smith and Lillie Bell Young Smith. On February 27, 1943, she married Irson Milton Smith in Scottsboro, Alabama. Myrtle was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and riding around the neighborhood in the golf cart. She was a devoted Christian and loved to spread the word of God.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Orvil and Lillie Smith; her husband, Irson Smith; one brother, Johnnie Lee Smith; and one sister, Elizabeth Paulk.
Myrtle is survived by her sons, Bobby Smith and wife Linda of Grand Island, Nebraska, and Tony Smith of Breckenridge; six grandchildren, Natasha Taylor, Kristen Edney, Vickie Bloomquist, Jeff Smith, Nic Smith, and Tim Smith; great-grandchildren, Aoife, Loch, Meadhbh, Isabel, Audrey, Sofia, Caleb, Ashar, Reuben, Ethan, Zac, Mads, Liam, Bailey, Sawyer, and Collin; and great-great -grandchildren, Noah, Maddie, and Felix.
Memorials may be made to Beyond Faith Hospice, Meals on Wheels or to the Hubbard Creek Volunteer Fire Department and may be left at Morehart Mortuary. Condolences may be made online at www.morehartmortuary.net.
