Tommy and Sharon Wimberley will be honored with a lighting ceremony for their vintage, 1928 oil derrick, which has recently been relocated to the 2100 block of West Walker Street. The event, which will be hosted by H-Bar Realty, will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20.

The lighting ceremony will be held in memory of Wendell “Wimp” Wimberley, Tommy’s son, who died last month.

Monday evening’s event will include music by Kyle Fambro, a prayer by Michael Roach and a welcome by Colton Buckley, CEO and executive director of the Breckenridge Economic Development Corp.  The ceremony will be open to the community, and refreshments will be served.

The lights on the oil derrick are scheduled to be turned on at 5:45 p.m.
