South Elementary students got into the spirit of Halloween last week, painting pumpkins donated to the school by United Supermarket.

This evening, several activities will give local kids a chance to collect some candy and participate in some games, in addition to traditional trick-or-treating.

  • First Baptist Church’s Festival of Lights
First Baptist Church of Breckenridge, 301 S. Rose Ave., will host its Festival of Lights event from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31. The activities are for kids up to sixth grade
  • Elliott Street Church of Christ’s Trunk or Treat
Elliott Street Church of Christ, 1701 W. Elliott St., will host a Trunk or Treat event for kids from 5 to 6:30 p.m. or until the candy runs out on Sunday, Oct. 31. Masks are recommended.
  • First United Church’s Trunk or Treat
First United Church of Breckenridge, 419 W. Walker St., will host a Trunk or Treat event for kids in the church’s parking lot from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31.

At South Elementary, United Supermarket staff assisted the kids in painting the pumpkins and chose the winners. Click here to see the Breckenridge Texan’s Photo Gallery of some of the fourth graders painting pumpkins.
