Rebecca Gillespie, age 72, of Breckenridge, passed away Thursday, October 14, 2021. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Morehart Mortuary.

Rebecca Jeane Rodgers was born September 15, 1949, in Fort Worth, Texas, to parents Bobby Ray Rodgers and Wilma Jeane Vincent Rodgers. She went to school in Breckenridge and was a member of the Breckenridge High School class of 1967. On November 2, 1968, Rebecca married David Gillespie in Breckenridge. She worked at Sears for many years as the store manager. In 1990, she went to work at Walmart until her retirement in 1999. Rebecca enjoyed reading; she would’ve read books all day if she could. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed keeping her grandkids and teaching them how to cook and watch game shows. She was the best stay at home Meemaw for all of her grandkids. Rebecca loved everyone and loved to make everyone smile and laugh. She was also a member of First Baptist Church and Gunsight Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Wilma Rodgers; grandmother, Ruby Vincent; and one granddaughter, Kalena Gillespie.

She is survived by her husband of over 52 years, David Gillespie; two children, Glen Gillespie and girlfriend Lexie Humphreys, Donna Gillespie and fiancé Josh Davis; grandchildren, Cole Gillespie and fiancé Tory Weaver, Curry Pendleton and fiancé Kellie Sanders, Shawn Malone and wife Becky, Bradley Malone, Hunter Gillespie and wife Katelynn, Hayden Gillespie, Abby Gillespie, Grace Gillespie; and great grandchildren, Ryder Gillespie, Journeigh Gillespie, Presley Malone, Kinsleigh Gillespie.
