Peggy Burrows, age 89, of Breckenridge, passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2021. Graveside funeral services will be private. Interment will follow under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation has been cancelled. A memorial service will be planned for a later date.

Peggy Juanita Franklin was born February 7, 1932, in Breckenridge, Texas, to Albert R. Franklin and Tressie Beatrice Elliott Franklin. She grew up and attended schools in Breckenridge. On May 26, 1951, Peggy married Walter Emery Burrows, Jr. in Breckenridge. The Burrows’ moved to Hugoton, Kansas, where Peggy worked for animal control and at a hospital. In 1996, the Burrows’ moved back to Breckenridge where she worked for Stephens Memorial Hospital. She was a member of The Lighthouse Church and enjoyed reading, gardening and doing puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers and one sister.

Mrs. Burrows is survived by four children, Paula Webb and husband Pat of Canute, Oklahoma, Walter “Buddy” Burrows and wife Cindy of Washburn, Missouri, Kaye Hoffine and husband Gary of Breckenridge, and Faye Coday and husband Bryan of Breckenridge; one brother, Jack Franklin and wife Mary of Abilene; fourteen grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and one on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.
