Johnny Hill, age 77, of Breckenridge, passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2021. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 30, at Moon Cemetery with Rev. Don Bearden officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 29, at Morehart Mortuary.

Johnny Buster Hill was born March 20, 1944, to parents J.M. Hill and Opal Wood Hill in Gorman, Texas. He attended schools in Breckenridge and graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1962. Soon after graduation, Johnny enlisted and served in the United States Army until 1966 when he was honorably discharged. On October 22, 1966, he married Linda Heatley in Breckenridge. Johnny worked for the Texas Department of Transportation for many years until his retirement in 2000. When he wasn’t working, Johnny loved farming and taking care of his cows on the land that belonged to his grandparents. He also loved his dog, Buddy and his parrot, Otis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.M. and Opal Hill; and one brother, Jimmy Ray Hill.

Johnny is survived by his wife of nearly 55 years, Linda Hill of Breckenridge; two sons, John Arthur Hill and wife Carla, Sam Gentry Hill and Tashanna Parks, all of Breckenridge; grandchildren, Bailee Hill of Breckenridge, Bryce Hill of Forney, Brooklyn Hill of Abilene, Austin Hill of Breckenridge; step-grandchildren, Ashtyn Elliott, ChaLynn McLane, M.T. Heatley; and great-grandchildren, Wilder Elliott, Rynlie and Rhode Spurr McLane, and RaeLynn Heatley.

Memorials may be made to the Moon Cemetery Association or to Bethany Baptist Church and may be left at Morehart Mortuary. Condolences may be made online at www.morehartmortuary.net.
