Ginger Carol Low-McKay

Ginger McKay, 74, of Breckenridge, passed away on Friday, July 9, 2021, after a long battle involving multiple health issues and cancer.

The family will welcome friends for a visitation from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 15, 2021, in the Melton-Kitchens Chapel of Memories. Ginger’s funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 16, at Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home, with Brother Smith officiating. Her interment at the Breckenridge Cemetery will immediately follow the service.

Ginger Carol Low was born on May 1, 1947, in Gorman, Texas, to parents Joe and Mary Low. She graduated from Arlington High school in 1965 and then attended Tyler College, where she received her real estate license. Ginger and Ronnie were married on February 18, 1966, after she graduated and while Ronnie was still a sophomore in high school. She was wooed by his ability to play his saxophone.

She worked in oil and gas exploration doing seismic right alongside Ronnie. Ginger enjoyed fishing, gambling, and traveling or spending any available time with the family that she dearly loved.

Ginger was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Mary Low.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ronnie Keith McKay of Breckenridge; sisters, Jeane and Frances, both of Granbury; brother, Gary Low and wife Hollie of Mansfield; daughter, Michelle McKay of Breckenridge; son, Arlis McKay and wife Lacey of Breckenridge; daughter, Mary McKay Kelly and husband Anthony of Breckenridge; along with 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial donation in Ginger’s name can be made to Foster’s Home for Children (Stephenville) or the Ben Richey’s Boys Ranch (Abilene) and can be left at the Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home office. Condolence may be made at meltonkitchens.com.
